The Lost Camera Project

How are we all?

So, we're mixing it up this time round. The basic prompt is disposable cameras, and you can do with that whatever you want.
But we also have a specific, hmmm, I guess you would call it a task, for you to all play along with.

I started this flickr group, called The Lost Camera Project. The idea is similar to Crochet/Knit tagging, if you have ever dabbled in these things.

You crochet/knit something, and put it somewhere, maybe around a lamp post, or a traffic light, perhaps a bin, wherever you can think of. The world has been made brighter through this home made guerilla art movement.
You can even add a tag to your tag, as a form of independant advertising!

So the premise of the Lost Camera, is you take one disposable camera, you add a tag to it with your return address/instructions, you take the first picture, then send it out into the world. When the camera is up, the last person to get a hold of it, sends it back to the return address/develops the camera and uploads the results to the flickr group.

Crazy? Yes. Risky? Yes. Potential for exciting results? Hell yes!

(Sidenote: After I had created and started this group, I was informed about this existing art project. Which, clearly, is a bigger version of this baby project! I still believe the flickr project could see some exciting results :))

I released my first lost camera in Swansea, UK city centre last week sometime.

I love all things grassroots and independant. Things that can encourage anyone and everyone to participate in an art movement. So I'd love for this group to fill up with shots of the cameras going out, and then the results of these cameras.
It is a project filled with hope.
